Jurassic World Rebirth Scores a Strong Global Opening with $318M
Jurassic World Rebirth had a successful global debut, grossing $91.5 million in its domestic 3-day opening, with an additional $147.3 million over the 5-day period. The film opened strong during the July 4th holiday, and while it didn’t top previous Jurassic World openings, it still became the biggest worldwide launch of 2025, surpassing the global debut of A MineCraft Movie. Directed by Gareth Edwards, Rebirth achieved the third-biggest opening for him, following ‘Rogue One’ and ‘Godzilla.’ Despite being the first Jurassic film to open under $100 million since ‘Jurassic Park III,’ the film was well-received internationally, with China leading the way. The film opened to $41.5 million in China, marking the biggest debut of 2025 for that market. However, the film received mixed reviews, scoring 51% on Rotten Tomatoes, while the audience score was higher at 72%. Looking ahead, the film faces stiff competition with Superman arriving next weekend. Despite this, Jurassic World Rebirth remains a major success for Universal Pictures, continuing the franchise’s dominance at the box office.
