Oby Kechere, Veteran Nollywood Actress, Passes Away After Long Illness

Veteran Nollywood actress, Oby Kechere, wey sabi for her role as Madam Koi Koi for the 2002 comedy movie Aki na Ukwa, don pass on. Na Saturday, Uche Agbo, wey be National President of the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN), come make the news public. Oby Kechere die on Monday, 27th April 2026, after she don dey fight illness for some time. She be graduate of Theatre Arts from University of Ibadan and she dedicate her life to Nollywood and the growth of DGN. She hold position as Vice Chairman of DGN Abuja Chapter and people wey sabi her describe her as committed professional wey contribute well well to the guild. Before she enter Nollywood for 2001, she don act for movies like August Meeting series, but she really blow for Aki na Ukwa with her comic role as Madam Koi Koi. DGN talk say her work for Abuja Chapter go remain for memory and e encourage all wey dey her family and colleagues to find comfort. May her gentle soul rest in peace.
