Veteran Actor Tom Troupe, Known for Roles in ‘Star Trek’ and ‘Cagney & Lacey,’ Passes Away at 97

Tom Troupe, a seasoned actor with an illustrious career in both stage and screen, has passed away at the age of 97. He died at his Beverly Hills home due to natural causes, just five days after his birthday. Troupe was well-known for his roles in numerous TV series and films, including ‘Star Trek,’ ‘Cagney & Lacey,’ ‘My Own Private Idaho,’ and ‘Mission: Impossible.’ His career began in local theater before making his Broadway debut in 1957 in ‘The Diary of Anne Frank.’ He later moved to Los Angeles, where he became a staple in popular TV shows such as ‘The Fugitive,’ ‘Cheers,’ ‘Murder, She Wrote,’ and ‘Knots Landing.’ Troupe also had a successful stage career, performing alongside his late wife Carole Cook in plays like ‘The Lion in Winter’ and ‘The Gin Game.’ He was a recipient of the Bronze Star after serving in the Korean War. His legacy lives on through his performances and his family, including his son Christopher and granddaughter Ashley. Troupe’s wife, Cook, passed away in 2023. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Entertainment Community Fund or the Pasadena Humane Society.
