Spider-Punk Animated Movie in Development at Sony with Daniel Kaluuya Returning as the Lead

A Spider-Punk animated feature is reportedly in the works at Sony Pictures Animation, with Daniel Kaluuya set to reprise his role as Hobie Brown/Spider-Punk from ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’. The project is said to be in early development, co-written by Kaluuya and Ajon Singh, although no further details have been released yet. The news comes as Kaluuya is also set to appear as Spider-Punk in the upcoming ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’ movie, scheduled for release in 2027. Spider-Punk first appeared in Marvel comics in 2015 as a rebellious teenager with the same powers as Peter Parker, but with a passion for punk rock. In his universe, he leads an underground resistance against Norman Osborn’s authoritarian regime. Kaluuya’s involvement in the role has garnered attention, particularly as he is known for his standout performances in films like ‘Get Out’, ‘Black Panther’, and ‘Nope’.
