Lewis Pullman May Join Father Bill Pullman in Upcoming ‘Spaceballs’ Sequel

Lewis Pullman is reportedly in talks to co-star in the long-awaited sequel to Mel Brooks’ 1987 sci-fi parody ‘Spaceballs,’ alongside his father, Bill Pullman, who will reprise his original role as Lone Starr. Lewis, known for roles in ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ and ‘Lessons in Chemistry,’ is expected to play Starburst, the son of Lone Starr and Queen Vespa (played again by Daphne Zuniga). The film, produced by Amazon MGM Studios and set for theatrical release in 2027, will also feature Josh Gad, Keke Palmer, and returning cast members including Rick Moranis and Brooks himself, reprising his role as Yogurt. Directed by Josh Greenbaum and written by Benji Samit, Dan Hernandez, and Josh Gad, the film is described as a sequel with reboot elements, humorously referred to by insiders as a “Non-Prequel Non-Reboot Sequel Part Two.” Although plot details remain scarce, the film aims to blend nostalgia with new generational dynamics, with Starburst and Destiny (Palmer) among the leads. Lewis Pullman’s involvement signifies a personal milestone, as he embraces working alongside his father after previously keeping their careers separate.
