Blake Lively, Anna Kendrick and Henry Golding Reunite in Sequel to A Simple Favor
Set against the backdrop of a lavish Italian wedding, *Another Simple Favor* marks the return of Blake Lively, Anna Kendrick, and Henry Golding in a sequel to the 2018 dark comedy *A Simple Favor*. The film, now streaming on Prime Video, picks up five years after the first installment, with Stephanie (Kendrick), now a successful true-crime vlogger, invited to Emily’s (Lively) extravagant nuptials to Dante (Michele Morrone), a wealthy Italian with ties to organized crime. Emily, who had previously faked her death and was convicted for murdering her sister and father, has been released from prison on appeal. As the wedding progresses, secrets and betrayals unravel, leading to yet another twisted mystery. At a SXSW festival Q&A, Lively shared her enthusiasm about reprising her role, noting that Emily remains her favorite character despite ongoing legal disputes surrounding her other project, *It Ends With Us*. Kendrick reflected on her character’s naïveté and evolution, while Golding joked about wanting his character to be a “complete a*****e” this time around. Director Paul Feig, who had avoided sequels in the past, said he was drawn back by his love for the characters. The film blends comedy, crime, and drama, appealing to fans of the original.
