Hayley Atwell and Rupert Everett Cast in Season 2 of ‘Rivals’ on Disney+
Season 2 of the drama series *Rivals* on Disney+ has gained new additions to its cast, with Hayley Atwell and Rupert Everett joining the ensemble. Atwell, known for her role in *Mission: Impossible*, plays Helen Gordon, the ex-wife of Rupert Campbell-Black (played by Alex Hassell), and the mother of his two children. Everett, famous for his role in *My Best Friend’s Wedding*, will portray Malise Gordon, Helen’s husband and Rupert Campbell-Black’s former show-jumping coach. The series, based on the novel by Jilly Cooper, is currently filming its extended second season. According to showrunner Dominic Treadwell-Collins, the season will explore more about the character of Rupert Campbell-Black and delve deeper into the world of polo. The cast also includes several other new actors, such as Maxim Ays, Holly Cattle, and Oliver Dench, among others. Filming has already covered six of the planned twelve episodes. *Rivals*, set against the backdrop of the 1980s British television world, has stirred discussions due to its bold and racy content, including scenes with nudity, which were widely talked about during its first season. The show has been praised for its unapologetic embrace of sex and adult themes, which continue into the new season.
