Warwick Davis Returns as Professor Flitwick in HBO’s ‘Harry Potter’ Series, Along with Other Cast Announcements

The upcoming HBO ‘Harry Potter’ series has revealed several new castings, including the return of Warwick Davis as Charms Professor Filius Flitwick. Davis, who portrayed Flitwick in all eight original films, will reprise his role, though he won’t play the goblin Griphook this time around—Leigh Gill will take on that role. Joining the Hogwarts staff are Sirine Saba as Professor Pomona Sprout, Richard Durden as the ghostly Professor Cuthbert Binns, and Bríd Brennan as Madam Poppy Pomfrey. On the student side, Elijah Oshin will play Dean Thomas, Finn Stephens as Vincent Crabbe, and William Nash as Gregory Goyle. Production for the series is already underway at Warner Bros. Leavesden Studios in the UK, and HBO has been slowly unveiling its extensive cast. Recently announced were the Weasley siblings, with twins Tristan and Gabriel Harland as Fred and George, Ruari Spooner as Percy, and Gracie Cochrane as Ginny. Other notable cast members include John Lithgow as Dumbledore, Nick Frost as Hagrid, and Paapa Essiedu as Snape. The highly anticipated series, which will launch in 2027, is being led by Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod as executive producers, alongside author J.K. Rowling and other key figures from the original films.
