Eric Dane Makes First Public Appearance Since ALS Diagnosis, Continues Acting Despite Physical Challenges

Actor Eric Dane attended the premiere of Amazon MGM’s new series ‘Countdown’ in Los Angeles, marking his first red carpet appearance since revealing his ALS diagnosis. Accompanied by his partner, filmmaker Janell Shirtcliff, Dane shared his optimism and commitment to continuing his acting career despite the progressive disease. He joined his co-stars and creators at the Harmony Gold Theater for the event and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to see the team’s hard work come to life on screen.

Dane, who is also preparing for the return of HBO’s ‘Euphoria’ for its third season, acknowledged his physical limitations due to ALS, a degenerative neurological condition. Although he hasn’t begun filming for the series, he confirmed production is underway and reaffirmed his trust in show creator Sam Levinson.

The actor recently spoke openly about his health during an interview with Diane Sawyer, disclosing that he now has only one functioning arm and expects further progression in the coming months. Despite the challenges, Dane remains determined to stay active in the industry and adapt to roles that suit his condition.

‘Countdown’ will debut its first three episodes on Prime Video on June 25, with new episodes released weekly leading to a season finale on September 3.
