Dharmendra, Iconic Bollywood Actor and Star of ‘Sholay’, Dies at 89

Dharmendra, one of Bollywood’s most beloved and enduring actors, has died in Mumbai at the age of 89. Widely known as the ‘He-Man of Bollywood’ and admired for his striking looks, versatile performances, and charismatic screen presence, he captivated audiences for more than six decades. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other prominent figures paid tribute, describing his death as the end of an era in Indian cinema. Born Dharam Singh Deol in 1935 in Punjab, he grew up in a modest Jatt-Sikh household and dreamt early of a career in films.
