Adele to Star in Tom Ford’s Upcoming Film Adaptation of ‘Cry to Heaven’

Adele is set to make her acting debut in the upcoming film ‘Cry to Heaven’, directed by fashion icon Tom Ford. The movie, based on Anne Rice’s 1982 novel, is set in the 18th-century world of ‘castrati’—male opera singers who were castrated in their youth to preserve their high voices. The story follows two castrati whose lives intertwine as they achieve success in Venice’s opera scene. In addition to Adele, the star-studded cast includes Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Colin Firth, and Paul Bettany, among others. While details on Adele’s specific role remain undisclosed, her casting marks a significant shift from her music career to acting. Ford, known for his acclaimed films ‘A Single Man’ and ‘Nocturnal Animals’, will direct and produce the film. This move comes after Adele announced a hiatus from her music career, having wrapped up a Las Vegas residency last year.
