Venice Immersive 2025 Showcases 69 XR Projects from 27 Countries

The Venice Immersive section of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, running from August 27 to September 6, 2025, is fully dedicated to Extended Reality (XR) and immersive arts. Held on the island of Lazzaretto Vecchio in Venice, the festival presents 69 projects from 27 countries, including 30 projects in competition with 21 world premieres and 9 international premieres. The event features various XR expressions such as immersive videos, virtual and mixed reality, virtual worlds, and installations. This year, the festival also hosts the Venice Immersive Market within the Venice Production Bridge initiative, facilitating networking, distribution, and financing opportunities for XR creators. Focus countries include the United Kingdom, Chile, and Morocco, with support from respective cultural institutions. The event highlights the growing significance of immersive media in cinema and the arts and aims to foster global collaboration and innovation in the XR field.
