The Malayalam film ‘Vaazha 2’ has reached a major milestone at the worldwide box office. Released on April 2, the film, directed by Savin SA and produced by Vipin Das, Harris Desom, Sahu Garapati, PB Anish, Adarsh Narayan, and Icon Studios, has now surpassed Mohanlal’s ‘Thudarum’ in total earnings. Over 36 days, ‘Vaazha 2’ has earned 129.09 crore net in India, equaling 152.32 crore gross, and 85.75 crore gross overseas. The combined worldwide gross stands at 238.07 crore, making it the fourth-highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time. This achievement comes despite a slowdown in the film’s theatrical run. The movie features actors Hashir H, Alan Bin Siraj, Biju Kuttan, Ajin Joy, Vinayak V, and Veda Shankar, and was produced on a relatively modest budget of 10 crore. With its latest success, ‘Vaazha 2’ has overtaken ‘Thudarum’ (237.76 crore) and is approaching the third spot held by ‘Manjummel Boys’ (241.56 crore). The film’s performance highlights both its popularity and the growing reach of Malayalam cinema globally.
