FX’s ‘American Love Story’ Begins Production, Sets February 2026 Release

Ryan Murphy’s upcoming FX anthology series, ‘American Love Story,’ has officially begun production in New York City. The show centers on the complex and ultimately tragic romance between John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. Murphy shared first-look images on Instagram, featuring Sarah Pidgeon and Paul Kelly in full costume as Carolyn and JFK Jr., respectively. Naomi Watts is also set to appear in the series as Jackie Kennedy.

Scheduled to premiere during the week of Valentine’s Day in February 2026, the series aims to explore the personal lives of one of America’s most iconic couples. Murphy expressed enthusiasm about the casting process, noting that over a thousand actors auditioned for the lead roles. The show is executive produced by Murphy along with Brad Simpson, Nina Jacobson, D.V. DiVencentis, and Connor Hines.

“American Love Story” is part of Murphy’s broader portfolio under his overall deal with Disney and FX, which includes other anthology hits like “American Horror Story,” “Feud,” and “American Crime Story.” The project follows Murphy’s pattern of dramatizing real-life figures and events with emotional depth and visual flair.
