Pedro Pascal is reportedly in talks to play the lead role in Todd Haynes’ gay romance film, ‘De Noche.’ The film, which centers on a corrupt cop and his younger lover fleeing 1930s Los Angeles for Mexico, had its production halted last year when Joaquin Phoenix exited the lead role shortly before filming was set to begin. If Pascal’s deal is finalized, he will star alongside Danny Ramirez, who is also attached to the project. Pascal, who has had a standout year with an Emmy nomination for his role in ‘The Last of Us’ and high-profile roles in Marvel’s ‘The Fantastic Four’ and A24’s ‘Materialists,’ is also set to reprise his role as Reed Richards in the upcoming ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and return as the Mandalorian in ‘Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu’ movie. The film’s script, co-written by Haynes and Jon Raymond, has been praised, and Haynes is hopeful the project can be revived after its setback. The film is produced by Killer Films and backed by sales agent M2K Film. Pascal’s involvement, along with other major projects he’s working on, signals his growing presence in both television and film.
