Pedro Pascal and Jon Favreau present new Star Wars film at CCXP Mexico

Pedro Pascal attended the CCXP Mexico pop culture convention for the second time, accompanied by Jon Favreau and the character Grogu, to present their upcoming Star Wars film, “The Mandalorian and Grogu.” Pascal was visibly emotional, recalling his childhood experiences watching Star Wars on the big screen and describing his excitement to be part of the franchise’s cinematic legacy. Favreau expressed gratitude towards fans and shared insights into the film’s extensive three-year pre-production process, highlighting the detailed choreography, creature design, stop motion, and CGI. The film, starring Pascal, Sigourney Weaver, and Jeremy Allen White, will premiere on 21 May 2026 in IMAX, marking the first Star Wars movie release in seven years. Favreau emphasised the evolving dynamic between Din Djarin and Grogu, noting that Grogu has become a Mandalorian apprentice. Pascal, showing support for the upcoming World Cup, wore a Mexican national team jersey and explained how the film portrays the characters as a balanced duo rather than simply protector and child. The event drew 2,500 attendees, who enthusiastically received the preview and celebrated the return of the Star Wars franchise to cinemas.
