Parasite Named Best Film of the 21st Century in New Poll

The New York Times recently published the results of a poll to determine the best films of the 21st century, as voted by over 500 influential figures in the film industry. Bong Joon Ho’s 2019 Best Picture Oscar-winning film ‘Parasite’ claimed the top spot, beating out other critically acclaimed films. Coming in second was David Lynch’s 2001 masterpiece ‘Mulholland Drive,’ which has consistently ranked high in various best-of-the-century polls. Other notable films in the top 20 include ‘There Will Be Blood,’ ‘In the Mood for Love,’ and ‘Moonlight.’ The list also featured iconic films like ‘The Social Network,’ ‘Mad Max: Fury Road,’ and ‘Spirited Away.’ However, some excellent films just missed out on the top 20, such as ‘The Dark Knight,’ ‘Lost in Translation,’ and ‘Arrival.’ The full Top 100 list is now available on The New York Times website, and it reflects the evolving tastes and influential voices shaping the film industry today.
