Mickey Rourke denies involvement in $100,000 GoFundMe claiming to help him avoid eviction

Actor Mickey Rourke has clarified that he is not connected to a GoFundMe campaign set up under his name that aimed to raise $100,000 to prevent his alleged eviction. The 73-year-old Oscar-nominated actor posted a video on Instagram expressing frustration and confusion, calling the campaign ‘humiliating’ and urging fans to request refunds. The fundraiser, titled ‘Help Mickey Rourke Stay in His Home’, claimed to have his full permission and listed Liya-Joelle Jones, an assistant to his manager, as the organiser. According to the campaign page, Rourke was facing urgent housing expenses related to eviction threats. However, Rourke firmly denied granting consent, stating that he would never ask for public charity, adding that the situation embarrassed him deeply and was inconsistent with his pride and values. He also mentioned speaking with his lawyer to investigate the origin of the campaign. In his message, the actor acknowledged past financial instability due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2023 Hollywood strikes but insisted he currently has a roof over his head and food to eat. Known for films such as ‘The Wrestler’, ‘9½ Weeks’, and ‘Rumble Fish’, Rourke has experienced a turbulent career marked by personal and professional challenges. Most recently, his controversial participation in ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ in 2025 added to public scrutiny. Despite this, Rourke assured fans he is fine and grateful for what he has, asking them not to contribute any money and to seek refunds from the fraudulent campaign.
