Mia Goth Cast in Shawn Levy’s ‘Star Wars: Starfighter’ with Ryan Gosling, Set for 2027 Release

Mia Goth, known for her work in ‘Pearl’ and Ti West’s horror trilogy, is set to appear in ‘Star Wars: Starfighter,’ directed by Shawn Levy and starring Ryan Gosling. The film will begin production in the fall of 2025 and is scheduled for theatrical release on May 28, 2027. Details of Goth’s role remain undisclosed. The film, which will introduce new characters, takes place five years after the events of ‘Star Wars: Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker,’ making it the next chronological entry in the Star Wars saga.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and creative chief Dave Filoni revealed the project at the Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo this past April. Jonathan Tropper, a frequent collaborator of Levy’s, wrote the screenplay. Tropper previously penned ‘The Adam Project’ and created the Apple TV+ series ‘Your Friends & Neighbors.’

‘Star Wars: Starfighter’ follows Levy’s success with ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ the top-grossing R-rated film of all time, with $1.3 billion in global earnings. Goth is also set to star in Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’ and Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film ‘The Oddysey.’ Her representation includes WME, Curtis Brown, and Michael Auerbach. The casting news was first reported by The InSneider.
