Veteran Actress Madhu Malhotra Passes Away at 71

Madhu Malhotra, a familiar face in Hindi cinema during the 1970s and 1980s, passed away in Mumbai on Friday at the age of 71, as reported by ‘Film Information’. She gained recognition for her roles in popular films such as ‘Hero’ (1983) and ‘Satte Pe Satta’ (1982), often appearing in supporting roles but leaving a lasting impression on audiences. In ‘Hero’, she performed the song ‘Lambi Judaai’, known for its soulful rendition by Pakistani singer Reshma, and in ‘Satte Pe Satta’, she was paired with comic actor Paintal, delighting viewers with her performance in the song ‘Mausam Mastana’. Madhu appeared in over 100 films, including cameos in Subhash Ghai’s hits like ‘Vishwanath’ (1978), ‘Karz’ (1980), and ‘Vidhaata’ (1982), as well as in horror movies by Mohan Bhakri, such as ‘Khooni Murda’ (1989) and ‘Roohani Taqat’ (1991). Director Anil Sharma, who worked with her in ‘Shradhanjali’ (1981), described her as a thorough professional. Though she mostly played minor roles, her charm and dedication made her a memorable presence in Bollywood’s golden era.
