Lily James and Chris Hemsworth to star in submarine thriller ‘Subversion’ for Amazon MGM
Lily James has joined Chris Hemsworth in the submarine thriller titled ‘Subversion,’ which will be directed by Patrick Vollrath for Amazon MGM. The film, written by Andrew Ferguson, is set in a tense, high-stakes environment reminiscent of a ‘Die Hard on a submarine.’ It follows a former naval commander, portrayed by Hemsworth, who is coerced by a cartel-like organization into piloting a dangerous submarine filled with illegal cargo across international waters. The plot thickens when he becomes the target of a determined Coast Guard officer, played by James, who is in hot pursuit. With blockades to evade and threats coming from both inside and outside the submarine, the commander must navigate these perilous situations while racing against time. Production is set to begin this September in Australia, with Lorenzo di Bonaventura producing. James, who is known for her roles in recent films such as ‘Relay’ and ‘Swiped,’ has a packed schedule, including multiple high-profile projects in the works. Hemsworth’s role marks another thrilling addition to his filmography. The collaboration between the two stars adds to the anticipation surrounding this high-concept action movie.
