Robert Aramayo Nominated for Leading Actor at Bafta for Role in ‘I Swear’

Robert Aramayo, an actor from Hull, expressed his astonishment at being nominated for Leading Actor at the Bafta Film Awards for his performance in the film ‘I Swear.’ The movie tells the true story of John Davidson, a teenager living with Tourette’s syndrome, specifically featuring his experience with coprolalia, a condition causing involuntary swearing. ‘I Swear,’ a comedy-drama directed by Kirk Jones, has also received nominations for Outstanding British Film, Supporting Actor, Original Screenplay, and Casting. Aramayo, who previously appeared in ‘Lord of the Rings’ and ‘Game of Thrones,’ described playing Davidson as the biggest challenge of his career but also highly rewarding due to the support he received during filming. He spoke about the honor of sharing a nomination with actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothée Chalamet, and Ethan Hawke, whom he had been inspired by during university. Additionally, Aramayo has been nominated for the EE Bafta Rising Star Award, a public-voted category.
