Kirsten Dunst expresses interest in a ‘Minecraft Movie’ sequel to boost her earnings

In an interview with ‘Town and Country’ magazine, Dunst humorously shared her wish to star in a sequel to the highly successful ‘A Minecraft Movie,’ hoping it would allow her to ‘make a pile of cash.’ Dunst, who has been in the industry since she was just three years old, noted that her recent films haven’t performed as well as expected at the box office. For instance, her last film, ‘Civil War,’ earned $127 million worldwide, a notable sum but far below the $955 million that ‘A Minecraft Movie’ generated. While the success of the Minecraft franchise has made a significant impact on the industry, Dunst’s comments highlight the financial disparity between some of Hollywood’s most popular films and her own projects. In the interview, Dunst also discussed her upcoming roles, including collaborations with directors Ruben Östlund, Sofia Coppola, and Mikey Madison. Although a ‘Minecraft’ sequel has not been confirmed, director Jared Hess is reportedly open to revisiting the franchise.
