Kevin Costner and Jake Gyllenhaal Lead Long-Delayed Dramedy ‘Honeymoon with Harry’ for Amazon MGM

After more than two decades of development, ‘Honeymoon with Harry’ is finally moving forward with Kevin Costner and Jake Gyllenhaal set to star. Amazon MGM has secured the rights to this long-anticipated project, which has seen various iterations over the years. Directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, the film is based on a script by Dan Fogelman. The story follows a man (Gyllenhaal) who embarks on a honeymoon with his would-be father-in-law (Costner) after his fiancée tragically passes away days before their wedding. This emotional and comedic dramedy will mark a collaboration between Ficarra, Requa, and Fogelman, who previously worked together on ‘Crazy, Stupid, Love’ and Hulu’s ‘Paradise’. The project has been in the works since 2004 and has had numerous actors and directors attached over the years, including Vince Vaughn, Jack Nicholson, Bradley Cooper, and Robert De Niro. Jennifer Salke, the former head of Amazon MGM, will also produce this film under her new banner, Sullivan Street Productions. The film is a personal passion project for producer Mike Karz, who has tirelessly worked to bring the film to life over the years. With Gyllenhaal and Costner’s star power, the film is expected to be a significant hit for the streaming platform.
