Karen Gillan Cast as Lead in ‘Highlander’ Reboot Alongside Henry Cavill

Scottish actress Karen Gillan, known for her role in ‘Doctor Who’ and her portrayal of Nebula in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, has confirmed her role in the upcoming ‘Highlander’ reboot. The 37-year-old, originally from Inverness, will play the wife of Connor McLeod, a character portrayed by Henry Cavill. Gillan, who had previously expressed a desire to work more in Scotland, will be filming the project in her home country starting this September. In addition to her new role, Gillan recently starred in ‘The Life of Chuck’, a movie based on a novella by Stephen King, where she plays a nurse in a life-affirming story.
