Jurassic World Rebirth: Spielberg’s Involvement and Director’s Experience Working with Him

The upcoming movie ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’, directed by Gareth Edwards, marks the seventh installment of the popular dinosaur franchise. Despite being so many years since Spielberg’s original film, the legendary director remains heavily involved as an executive producer, offering major input into the storyline and its development. Director Edwards shares that Spielberg guided much of the early stages of the film, helping shape its narrative. However, Spielberg eventually handed over the reins to Edwards, giving him the freedom to complete the project. Edwards admits that working with Spielberg was both a daunting and motivating experience. He recalls the pressure of knowing Spielberg was monitoring every step, but he was greatly relieved when Spielberg sent messages praising the dailies of the film. Co-star Rupert Friend emphasizes that the film carries a tone reminiscent of the original movie, describing it as a tribute to Spielberg’s influence. Jurassic World Rebirth, which stars Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali, is set to be released on July 2, 2025.
