Jessica Chastain disagrees with Apple’s decision to postpone The Savant series

Jessica Chastain has expressed her disagreement with AppleTV+’s decision to postpone the release of her upcoming series, *The Savant*. The show, which she both stars in and executive produces, focuses on a secretive investigator who tracks online hate groups in an effort to prevent violent attacks. The postponement of the series came after a careful review by AppleTV+, though the company did not specify the exact reasons behind the delay. However, many speculate that it is connected to the recent killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. In an Instagram post, Chastain emphasized that the series remains highly relevant, particularly in light of the numerous violent incidents in the U.S. over recent years, including school shootings, the January 6th Capitol attack, and the assassination attempt on Governor Gretchen Whitmer. Chastain argued that *The Savant* is about honoring those who work tirelessly to prevent such violence. She concluded by saying that while she respects Apple’s decision, she hopes the series will reach audiences soon. The show, based on a 2019 *Cosmopolitan* article, also stars Nnamdi Asomugha, Pablo Schreiber, and Richard Grant, but none of them have publicly commented on the delay as of now.
