Jeremy Allen White Worked Closely With Bruce Springsteen for Biopic Without Consulting Other Actors

Jeremy Allen White stars as Bruce Springsteen in the upcoming biopic ‘Deliver Me From Nowhere,’ portraying the legendary musician during a challenging period in his career, after the success of ‘Born to Run’ and ‘The River’ but before the global phenomenon of ‘Born in the U.S.A.’ White revealed in an interview at the New York Film Festival that he did not seek advice from other actors who have portrayed rock icons, such as Timothée Chalamet (Bob Dylan), Austin Butler (Elvis Presley), or Rami Malek (Freddie Mercury). Instead, White relied directly on Springsteen himself, who was closely involved in the film’s production and visited the set multiple times. White emphasized that observing Springsteen’s behavior and humility helped him capture the essence of the musician. After completing ‘Deliver Me From Nowhere,’ White reunited with Austin Butler to film the A24 crime movie ‘Enemies,’ discussing their shared experiences of portraying music legends. ‘Deliver Me From Nowhere’ showcases Springsteen’s creation of the lo-fi album ‘Nebraska,’ highlighting his artistic choices and refusal to tour or heavily promote the album. The film is set to premiere in theaters on October 24 via 20th Century Studios, offering audiences a unique look at Springsteen’s personal and professional struggles during this period.
