Jenna Ortega Reveals ‘Wednesday’ Season 2 Will Feature a Slasher-Inspired Episode
Jenna Ortega, who plays Wednesday Addams in Netflix’s hit series ‘Wednesday,’ has revealed that Season 2 will include an episode inspired by slasher films, packed with horror references. The series, created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, debuted in 2022 with Tim Burton directing and executive producing several episodes. Burton is returning for the second season in the same roles.
During press rounds at SXSW for her upcoming horror-comedy film ‘Death of a Unicorn,’ Ortega shared insights about the season’s visual style and tone. She highlighted a particular frame featuring Pugsley in a contraption reminiscent of ‘Full Metal Jacket’ and described the slasher-themed episode as ‘bizarre’ and ‘insane,’ emphasizing the creative freedom the team had this time around.
In addition to Ortega, returning cast members include Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán as Morticia and Gomez Addams. Notably, Lady Gaga will guest star in Season 2, and Ortega expressed admiration for working alongside both Gaga and Burton.
Currently, postproduction work for ‘Wednesday’ Season 2 is ongoing, with Ortega involved in ADR sessions. Netflix has not yet announced a release date, but the season is expected to premiere in 2025.
