Following Eastwood’s public denouncement, Kurier removed the article, citing it failed to meet editorial standards. This incident echoes previous controversies involving HFPA members using recycled or misrepresented material. One such example occurred in 2018, involving a Drew Barrymore interview published by EgyptAir. In Eastwood’s case, a quote about sequels—’I’ve shot sequels three times, but I haven’t been interested in that for a long while’—likely dates back to the early 1980s.
