Producers of ‘Iron Sky’ Announce New Sci-Fi Trilogy About Secret Soviet Colony on Mars

The team behind the cult sci-fi film ‘Iron Sky’ is returning with a new absurdist space satire, this time focusing on a hidden Soviet colony on Mars. The trilogy, titled ‘Deep Red,’ will be produced with a budget of 15 million euros and shot back-to-back, with releases planned for 2029, 2030, and 2031. The story revolves around a secret communist society on Mars, built since the 1950s, where an oppressive AI system, known as Deep Red, maintains control over the colony. The plot takes a turn when an American astronaut crash-lands on Mars and uncovers the hidden society. The project is set to use blockchain technology to fund the trilogy through a tokenized revenue-sharing model. The producers hope to build on the successful crowdfunding strategy used for ‘Iron Sky.’ The film’s visual effects will be overseen by Samuli Torssonen of Energia VFX, with Slovenian band Laibach potentially composing the score. This trilogy will be shot in one continuous production, inspired by the production model of Peter Jackson’s ‘The Lord of the Rings.’
