Nicola Peltz Prepares Intensively for Lead Role in ‘Prima’ with Ballet Training

Nicola Peltz is undertaking an intensive physical transformation for her upcoming indie film, ‘Prima’, in which she plays the lead role of Margo, a ballerina. Over the past four months, she has committed to rigorous ballet training alongside a strict diet, reportedly reducing her weight to under 100 pounds. Peltz has emphasised that she achieved her transformation without the use of weight-loss injections such as Ozempic, opting to manage it through discipline and dedicated training alone. Fans had speculated about her appearance, linking it to both personal life issues and potential use of weight-loss treatments, but the actress has clarified her commitment is strictly for the role. In addition to ballet, she has been working out in the gym to maintain the physique required for her character. Peltz has shared glimpses of her preparation on Instagram, including photos from her ballet lessons with instructor Katie Rose Cunin and a ballerina-themed party she hosted for her 31st birthday. This preparation mirrors the demanding routines previously undertaken by actors portraying ballerinas, such as Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis in ‘Black Swan’ and Jennifer Lawrence in ‘Red Sparrow’. Professional dancers have confirmed that such intensive training is standard in ballet, requiring daily rehearsals, technique refinement, and a diet focused on fuel rather than aesthetics. ‘Prima’ is currently in production, with a release date yet to be announced.
