Fox Releases First Teaser Trailer for Upcoming ‘Baywatch’ Reboot Series
Fox has officially unveiled the first teaser trailer for its upcoming reboot of the iconic television series ‘Baywatch,’ giving audiences an early look at the new cast and direction of the franchise. Actor Stephen Amell shared the teaser on Instagram on May 23, 2026, accompanied by the playful caption, “I dream in slow motion.” Although the preview is brief and does not reveal major plot details, it showcases Amell alongside Brooks Nader, Livvy Dunne, and Jessica Belkin wearing the franchise’s recognizable red lifeguard uniforms. The teaser also introduces the tagline, “Same beach. New blood,” signaling a modern continuation of the classic series.
According to the synopsis released through Variety, the reboot centers on Hobie Buchannon, the son of legendary lifeguard Mitch Buchannon from the original show. Hobie is now a Baywatch captain following in his father’s footsteps. His life changes dramatically when Charlie, a daughter he never knew he had, arrives hoping to continue the Buchannon legacy by becoming a Baywatch lifeguard herself. The story also revisits fan-favorite character Cody Madison, who now operates The Shoreline bar-and-grill while occasionally returning to lifeguard duty and mentoring younger team members.
The series aims to combine nostalgia from the original ‘Baywatch’ with a new generation of characters and storylines. Fox plans to premiere the reboot in January 2027, and the series will also stream on Hulu. The announcement has already generated attention among longtime fans curious about how the classic beach drama will be adapted for modern audiences.
