They argue that Norwood is not a real actor, lacks life experience and emotion, and using such AI creations could threaten human performers’ livelihoods and contractual protections established after the 2023 Hollywood strikes. Van der Velden maintains that Norwood is an artistic creation rather than a replacement for human actors, comparing it to drawing or writing a fictional character.
