The former residence of acclaimed film director Stanley Kubrick has been put on the market. Located in Elstree, Hertfordshire, the property known as Abbots Mead was Kubrick’s home from 1965 until 1979. During this time, he oversaw the production of several of his most iconic films including ‘The Shining’, ‘Barry Lyndon’, ‘A Clockwork Orange’, and ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’. The nine-bedroom house, which includes a blue plaque honoring Kubrick, is now listed with Savills at a guide price of £6,950,000. It boasts classic period features such as ornate staircases, large fireplaces, and high ceilings, as well as modern amenities like a heated swimming pool, sauna, and an orchard. The estate also includes a separate four-bedroom residence known as Abbots Mead Lodge, and a two-bedroom apartment above one of the garages.
