David Lynch’s Personal Collection Sells for $4.25 Million in High-Profile Auction

On June 18, 2025, a major auction featuring the personal and professional memorabilia of the late filmmaker David Lynch took place at the Peninsula Beverly Hills, organized by Julien’s Auctions and Turner Classic Movies. The event drew both live attendees and global online bidders, culminating in a total sale of $4.25 million. The auction followed Lynch’s passing in January at age 78.

Nearly 450 items were sold, encompassing scripts, props, and memorabilia from iconic Lynch films like Twin Peaks, Eraserhead, Mulholland Drive, and Dune. Among the standout pieces was a group of 11 scripts from Lynch’s unmade project ‘Ronnie Rocket,’ which sold for $195,000. Another high-ticket item included Lynch’s personalized red leather director’s chair, which fetched $91,000.

Beyond cinema-related memorabilia, items from Lynch’s personal life—such as espresso machines, woodshop tools, and artwork—also attracted strong interest. His La Marzocco GS/3 espresso machine sold for $45,500, and a Log Lady mug gifted to him brought in $11,700. A 1974 incense holder he crafted himself went for $52,000, and his 35mm print of Eraserhead earned the same amount.

This auction provided an intimate glimpse into Lynch’s creative and domestic worlds, reflecting the breadth of his influence in film and beyond.
