The decision came after Stern, 68, was charged with a misdemeanor count of soliciting prostitution in Ventura County, California. According to prosecutors, the alleged incident occurred on December 10, 2025, at a hotel in Camarillo. His arraignment is scheduled for February 6. Before the charges became public, Stern was set to portray the father figure in ABC’s single-camera comedy exploring two versions of a couple’s life—one with a child and one without—starring Rachel Bloom and Rory Scovel. The network has announced plans to recast his role, while Stern’s representatives have declined to issue a public response. Stern’s long career spans decades, featuring work in both film and television, including serving as the narrator of ‘The Wonder Years’ and appearing in ‘For All Mankind’ and ‘Shrill’.
