Netflix Announces Cast for Korean Adaptation of ‘Notes From the Last Row’

Netflix has officially announced the production and cast lineup for its upcoming Korean drama series ‘Notes From the Last Row,’ adapted from the acclaimed Spanish play by Juan Mayorga. The story centers on Heo Mun Oh, a literature professor and failed novelist, portrayed by Choi Min Sik. Once an aspiring writer, Mun Oh now leads a monotonous life, haunted by the harsh criticism of his only published novel. His stagnant existence is shaken when he becomes captivated by the writing of Lee Kang, an enigmatic engineering student who sits in the last row of his class. Played by Choi Hyun Wook, Lee Kang’s exceptional literary talent and mysterious aura draw Mun Oh into a secret literature class, reigniting his long-dormant ambitions and setting off a complex, obsessive relationship.

The series also features Heo Joon Ho as Kim Su Hun, a renowned author and Mun Oh’s former classmate, whose success and confidence have long been a source of envy and insecurity for Mun Oh. Kim Yun Jin joins the cast as Kim Su Hun’s elegant wife, Ahn Eun Joo, while Jin Kyung will portray Mun Oh’s wife and psychologist, Jo Hyeon Suk. With a blend of veteran and rising stars, the drama promises to deliver powerful performances and explore themes of ambition, rivalry, and creative obsession. Production is underway, and anticipation is building for this literary-themed series.
