Charli XCX Reveals Clairo Was Considered for Her Role in ‘Erupcja’

Charli XCX has revealed that she was not the only artist considered for the lead role in the upcoming independent film *Erupcja*. In an interview with *Filmmaker Magazine*, Charli and director Pete Ohs shared that Clairo was also a candidate for the role of Bethany, a shy tourist in Warsaw, but ultimately, Charli was chosen for the part. The film explores the intense relationship between two women, played by Charli and Lena Góra, in the city of Warsaw. Although the film was shot in secret during the summer of 2024, Charli’s fame made it difficult to keep the project under wraps, with the musician being recognized by fans. *Erupcja* will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 4, 2025, and Charli also has other film projects lined up, including *100 Nights of Hero* and *Sacrifice*. Despite her successful music career, Charli has been developing her skills as an actor and regularly shares her thoughts on cinema with fans.
