Final Destination Bloodlines Aims for Franchise-Best Opening at Box Office

The sixth installment of the Final Destination franchise, titled ‘Final Destination Bloodlines’, is poised to make a significant impact at the box office. Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, the film diverges from the original format by targeting not just the survivors of a deadly premonition but also their descendants. The story revolves around a woman in 1968 who foresees the collapse of a Seattle Sky Needle-like structure and saves everyone inside. Death then pursues all those connected to the survivors over decades.

The film is expected to outperform previous entries in the franchise. Warner Bros., the studio behind the production, is eyeing an opening weekend gross of $35 to $40 million from 3,400 North American theaters, according to Deadline. Meanwhile, Box Office Pro offers a more optimistic projection of $48 to $60 million. These numbers would make it the most successful debut in the series’ history.

The film competes with other releases such as Disney’s ‘Thunderbolts*’, currently in its third weekend, and the vampire thriller ‘Sinners’ from Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan. Upcoming competition includes ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’ and a live-action remake of ‘Lilo & Stitch’, both scheduled for release over Memorial Day weekend.
