Actor Alan Cumming has expressed his excitement about returning to the role of Nightcrawler in the upcoming film *Avengers: Doomsday*. After more than two decades since his last portrayal of the teleporting mutant in *X2: X-Men United*, Cumming is thrilled to rejoin the superhero world. Speaking at the TIME100 Gala, he reflected on the filming experience, noting how different it felt to return to such a large ensemble cast where many of his scenes were shot separately. Despite the challenges he faced during his earlier time in the role, including the physical demands of stunts, Cumming found the experience of revisiting Nightcrawler both fulfilling and healing. At 60, he was surprised to be performing stunts as a superhero again but was grateful for the opportunity. He also praised the filmmakers for creating a supportive atmosphere on set, ensuring that everyone felt valued. *Avengers: Doomsday* is set to feature an all-star ensemble, including Anthony Mackie, Tom Hiddleston, Paul Rudd, and Simu Liu, and is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026.
