Malayalam Actors Rally Against FIR Against Shwetha Menon Over Obscene Content Allegations

A group of actors from the Malayalam film industry has spoken out against the FIR filed against actress Shwetha Menon, accusing her of financial gain through allegedly vulgar and obscene roles in films. The FIR was filed under Section 67A of the Information Technology Act, 2000, based on a complaint from a resident of Ernakulam. The complaint is seen by some in the industry as part of a conspiracy tied to Shwetha Menon’s bid to become president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA). Actress Maala Parvathi raised concerns about possible ulterior motives behind the complaint, suggesting it may be orchestrated by rivals in the AMMA election. Senior actors Devan and Raveendran dismissed the allegations as baseless, with Devan calling them ‘nonsense’ and asserting that no actor would support such claims. Raveendran added that the association should investigate the origins of the complaint, which he believes was filed with malicious intent. The controversy has intensified as Shwetha Menon faces personal and professional challenges ahead of the AMMA elections.
